Drudge Exposes Censorship, While He Himself Censors Ads
The Drudge Report was the first to break the story about the New York Times' refusal to print John McCain's editorial. At first glance, it's honest reporting but upon further review, it has the distinct smell of hypocrisy.
"Matt Drudge calls out the New York Times for censoring the editorial of John McCain but he won't accept a paid ad from me regarding a matter that is factually based and thoroughly researched," says Cliff Kincaid, president of America's Survival, Inc., (ASI). "I guess if someone wanted to be really kind to Drudge, they could say he's inconsistent. However, I have a much different view. I find him to be an utter hypocrite."
At issue is an editorial written by John McCain regarding American war strategy in Iraq. It is a response to Barack Obama's essay, which did appear in the New York Times. Drudge reported that the Times' Op-ed editor wanted McCain's piece to "mirror" Obama's. "This is another scoop for Drudge," Kincaid says. "But I've got a scoop, too - Drudge rejected my paid ads on Barack Obama's communist connections. Drudge plays the role of the New York Times when it suits his political agenda."
Kincaid explained, "My problem is with the hypocrisy. If Matt Drudge holds the position that the New York Times turning away John McCain's editorial is newsworthy, he logically must think censorship is newsworthy. So why would he engage in it himself by not allowing my paid ads on his site?" See the ads yourself at www.usasurvival.org
Kincaid is referring to a banner ad that invites visitors to learn more about Frank Marshall Davis, Barack Obama's mystery mentor. Backed up with multiple sources and reference material, Kincaid has gone to great lengths to present factual information that Barack Obama was influenced and mentored by a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). "The burden of proof is on me," he says, "and I've got plenty of it. Yet Matt Drudge somehow finds the gall to be critical of a publication for refusing an op-ed piece while not accepting money for a paid ad? If hypocrisy were funny, this would be laugh out loud funny."
