New York Democrat Accuses Republican of Backroom Tricks

By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze

Morris Guller, a Lexington, New York 2004 Candidate for Congress recently sent what he called An Open Letter to Sandy Treadwell.

Sandy Treadwell served as New York Secretary of State from 1995-2001, leading the reorganization and revitalization of the state's oldest agency.

Treadwell is a republican candidate for Congress, in the 20th Congressional District, who won the endorsement of the Independence Party earlier this week.

Guller, a democrat, says Treadwell is attempting to eliminate Primaries in every election for the 20th Congressional District by using arcane and backroom tricks to have his opponents kicked off the ballot.

This, Guller says, would disenfranchise over six thousand voters who gave their signatures to other candidates to get those people on the upcoming Primary Ballot.

Guller accuses Treadwell of being an old school politician.

A big problem with Guller's "open letter," sent to multiple newspaper organizations, is that it is an unstructured, direct attack piece that calls Treadwell "a coward." In the letter, Guller accuses Tradwell of challenging the honor of former green beret Michael Rocque.

Roque, Treadwell and John Wallace, who occasionally contributes stories to NewsBlaze, are expected to contest the Republican primary in September this year.
