USAID Announces New Mission Director to Regional Mission in Ukraine

As Mission Director of the Regional Mission inUkraine, Jaruzelski will oversee nearly $80 million in projects inUkraine,Moldova andBelarus. The Regional Mission provides assistance in areas including democracy, governance, economic growth, energy infrastructure, health, education, HIV/AIDS and counter-trafficking in persons.

A member of the Senior Foreign Service, Jaruzelski began working for USAID in 1995 and has extensive experience in theEurope and Eurasia Region, after having served as Acting Mission Director, Deputy Mission Director and Regional Legal Advisor for USAID/Russia as well as Legal Advisor to theEurope and Eurasia Bureau of USAID/Washington. Jaruzelski has also served inEgypt andYemen.

Ms. Jaruzelski graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her service at USAID, Jaruzelski was Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Committee, and served as Assistant Counsel to the Clerk of the U.S., House of Representatives. She also worked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and at Macmillan Publishing Company.
