Media Advisory: National Association of Letter Carriers Convention for Monday, July 21
BOSTON, July 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Over 8,800 elected delegates to the 66th Biennial National Convention of the National Association of Letter Carriers union will register Saturday and Sunday at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in preparation for the week-long convention that begins Monday, July 21.
The highlight of Monday's opening session will be an address by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, followed by action on endorsement of a candidate for President.
Delegates represent letter carriers in all 50 states,District of Columbia,Puerto Rico,Virgin Islands andGuam. It is the largest convention of any AFL-CIO union.
Highlights of the Opening Session on Monday, July 21 (with approximate times):
10:00 a.m. - NALC Secretary-Treasurer Jane E. Broendel opens convention.
10:10 a.m. -Boston Mayor Thomas Menino welcomes delegates.
10:25 a.m. - NALC President William H. Young delivers keynote address.
11:00 a.m. - Address by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY).
11:30 a.m. - Delegates consider resolution on endorsement of candidate for President ofthe United States.
1:00 p.m. - Address by Rep. John McHugh (R-NY).
