Long Island American Water Embarks on Approximately $3 Million Upgrade for Its Water Distribution System in Villages of Lawrence and Woodsburgh
LYNBROOK, N.Y., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Long Island American Water today
announced a significant water main replacement and installation project in the
Villages ofLawrence and Woodsburgh. The project strives to increase water
pressure for residents and flows for firefighting while improving service
reliability. The combined cost of the company's capital improvements is
approximately $3 million.
"The region's water infrastructure is critical and this capital investment
will help provide long-term water service reliability and fire protection for
our customers inLawrence and Woodsburgh," said William Varley, president of
Long Island American Water. "We are confident we'll be able to complete these
significant infrastructure improvements in a timely, efficient manner."
Beginning the week of July 21, contractor crews working with Long Island
American Water will replace, install and connect more than 2.3 miles of
pipeline. Work will start at the intersection of Meadow Drive and Broadway in
Woodsburgh and end near Tanglewood Drive and Willow Way inLawrence.
The crews are scheduled to work Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until
6 p.m. and the project is expected to be completed in the late fall.
