Daytona Beach Cop Fired For Demanding Free Starbucks Coffee
By Robert Paul Reyes
"An internal affairs report says a Daytona Beach police officer demanded free coffee and tea from a Starbucks and threatened employees with slower emergency response times if they refused.
Lt. Major Garvin, a 15-year veteran, was fired July 8."

If I were a cop I would avoid donut shops and coffee establishments like the plague. I would hate to live up to the stereotype of police officers spending all their time munching on donuts and sipping coffee.
According to the AP article this cop visiting the Starbucks store as many as six times a night while on duty. As expensive as Starbucks coffee is, this amounts to extortion. For the price of 6 cups of Starbucks coffee Daytona Beach could afford to add another officer to its police force.
The coffee-loving cop threatened employees with slower emergency response time if they didn't fork over the free coffee. But I don't think I would want a cop strung out on six cups of coffee to show up at all, he might blow away a Starbucks customer for mispronouncing Frappuccino.
Now that he's been canned Gavin has plenty of time to spend all his time drinking coffee. My bad, that's what he was doing when he was a police officer.
