Sanskrit shlokas blessed the space for upcoming monumental TAMBO Retreat Center for Interchurch and Interfaith Families at Stagecoach in Nevada (USA) today.

Rajan Zed, acclaimed Hindu leader, blessed the space for this upcoming five acres Center with first and last mantras of Rig-Veda, the oldest existing scripture from around 1,500 BCE; besides shlokas from Bhagavad-Gita, and Upanishads, both ancient Hindu scriptures. Reading from Tattiriya Upanishad, he said, "Om saha naavavatu, Saha nau bhunaktu, Saha viiryan karavaavahai, Tejasvi naavadhiitamastu, Maa vidvishhaavahai", which translates as "May we be protected together, May we be nourished together. May we work together with great vigor, May our study be enlightening, May no obstacle arise between us."

Other religious leaders who gave blessings on the occasion included Dan Edwards, Bishop of Episcopal Diocese of Nevada, who prayed to God to "grant to this space the grace of Your presence" and Gene Savoy Jr., Head Bishop of International Community of Christ, who read from New Testament.

TAMBO (which expands as "That All May Be One") Retreat Center is being developed over five acres under the leadership of husband-wife team of Michael and Barbara Slater, who head the National Association of Interchurch and Interfaith Families which helps such families grow in understanding and live in harmony. While Michael is Episcopalian, his wife Barbara is Roman Catholic.

When completed, it will have an interfaith chapel, conference center, meditation corners, guesthouse, etc., and counselors will be available to assist interfaith and interchurch couples and their children.
