Producers Dairy Reaps the Benefits of New Route Accounting Solution Provided by Ross Computer Systems

Motorola MC70 Handheld Devices and O'Neil MC70 PrintPAD Printers Utilizing Ross Computer Systems' STORS Software Mobile Application Provides Improved Technology and Flexibility

Producers Dairy is experiencing significant route accounting productivity improvements with new technology hardware and printers provided by Ross Computer Systems. Ross, one of the largest developers of Host and Handheld Route Accounting software, upgraded Producers Dairy, an existing client, to new Motorola MC70 handheld devices and O'Neil MC70 PrintPAD integrated printing systems to run on Ross' Sales-Tracking-Ordering-Route Settlement (STORS) handheld application.

The MC70 PrintPAD offers significant benefits both from an operator flexibility and printer efficiency standpoint. The MC70 PrintPAD provides Producers Dairy route drivers the option of bringing the printer into a store or leaving it in their truck, depending on the particular requirements of each location. The size of the PrintPAD offers maximum flexibility by allowing drivers to print receipts on location rather than having to make a trip back to their truck, which can provide significant time savings and productivity improvements for each route driver.

The MC70 PrintPAD also provides a vehicle cradle so the driver can store and charge the handheld between stops. This feature removes the need for a separate charger for the handheld and printer in the truck during the day. Similarly, the handheld device can be stored and charged in the printer overnight removing the need and cost of charging cables or cradles for the handheld.

"The increased flexibility we have seen since implementing the new route accounting solution has been exceptional, and has allowed our drivers to better service our customers," said Frank Sewill, director of administration, Producers Dairy. "Ross Computer Systems has been an important partner of ours for many years, and I know I can rely on their expertise in the Route Accounting/Direct Store Delivery (DSD) mobile software and hardware industry, to help us grow and enhance our business processes."

"Providing an important customer with a competitive solution that will help them increase productivity and allow them to grow their business is extremely satisfying," said Brett Weiss, vice president of Operations at Ross Computer Systems. "This is another example of understanding a customer's needs and delivering the right solution at the right price -- which has always been how Ross Computer Systems does business."
