MEDIA AVAILABLE: 85 Broads Broadens Its Outreach With New Magazine
The riveting 65-page publication embodies the network's keystone principle:
GREENWICH, Conn. (EWORLDWIRE) Jul 7, 2008
85 Broads, a network of over 18,000 women worldwide, is thrilled to launch the first edition of a quarterly magazine entitled, "85 Broads." Recognizing the pivotal role that partnership plays in life's grand scheme, Janet Hanson, founder of the 85 Broads network, decided to construct the first publication around that very principle.
Hanson created "a magazine that would showcase the amazing women in our network alongside equally inspirational men," she said. Each of the magazine's narratives creatively captures the importance of a team dynamic. The twenty-one articles demonstrate both what it means to be a leader and how to effectively support colleagues and peers. As they describe their successes and failures, the authors in "85 Broads" delve deeply into human emotion - making their stories powerfully relatable to both women and men.
Anchoring the first issue of "85 Broads" is a cover story by former Goldman Sachs partner Peter D. Kiernan, III. Peter is the former chairman of the Robin Hood Foundation and the current chairman of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Peter's touching account of his deeply-rooted partnership with both Chris and Dana epitomizes the collaborative spirit of the 85 Broads network.
The much-anticipated "85 Broads" magazine is now available by subscription and online at 'http://www.85broads.com'.
The magazine follows Hanson's book, "More Than 85 Broads," published in 2006. The work focuses on 95 courageous women within the network whom Hanson has dubbed "trailblazers." Hanson writes in her introduction to the book that, "each of these women has had to define and redefine success for herself, using her own internal compass to guide her career decisions and personal choices." Readers are invariably captivated by the stories of "More Than 85 Broads" extraordinary women.
Founded originally in 1997 as an independent network for current and former Goldman Sachs women professionals, 85 Broads has since expanded into an interactive community that today connects successful women around the globe.
