TSA Announces Contract for Human Resources Support

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today a contract
award to Lockheed Martin in support of the agency's Office of Human
Capital.
Lockheed Martin will support TSA on a variety of human resource functions
including recruitment and hiring, personnel and payroll processing,
employee benefits, workforce management and help desk services. Previously
managed by three contractors, those services will now be streamlined by a
single vendor.
The contract begins with a six-month transition period, followed by a
one-year base period. TSA then has the option each year to renew the
contract for up to seven additional years, totaling eight and one-half
years of performance. The total value of the TSA contract, including
option years, is approximately $1.2 billion. The contract also provides the
flexibility for the department's headquarters to use Lockheed Martin's
human resource services, creating a possible contract ceiling of $3
billion.
The Office of Human Capital serves the TSA workforce, including full-time
and part-time transportation security officers and federal air marshals at
locations nationwide and around the world. The office develops policies and
programs used to promote efficient human resource practices that allow TSA
to create and sustain a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
