Governor Beshear Announces Rancho Poultry to Locate Food Processing Facility in Lebanon, KY

Project will create approximately 250 jobs, invest over $43 million in the region

FRANKFORT, Ky., July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Governor Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman today announced the location of Rancho Poultry LLC toMarion County. The food processor will create approximately 250 new employment opportunities as a result of the project, investing over $43 million in the commonwealth.

"The location of Rancho Poultry to theMarion County community will produce hundreds of employment opportunities and represents a tremendous capital investment in the commonwealth," said Gov. Beshear. "We welcome them and look forward to assisting the company as it establishes itself and grows in south centralKentucky."

Rancho Poultry is a major supplier of processed chicken to restaurants and food stores and counts McDonald's among its customers. The company plans to construct a 100,000 square-foot facility on 25 acres inLebanon. Two processing lines will be installed capable of producing 60 million pounds of partially cooked, battered and breaded chicken products. An additional third product line is already being considered by the company, which would add an additional 50 jobs.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority granted final approval to Rancho Poultry in June 2008, for tax benefits up to $7.5 million under the Kentucky Rural Economic Development Act, a program designed to increase manufacturing employment in the state.
