Amphenol's Reverse Bayonet GT Connectors with Array of Features Ideal for Rugged Applications

SIDNEY, N.Y., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Amphenol Industrial, a global leader in interconnect systems, introduces the Amphe-Power GT connector series, a 5015-style, reverse bayonet coupling connector with audible, tactile and visual indication of a full attachment. The GT connectors offer a resilient coupling cover for added damage protection and increased gripping surface to enhance product security in harsh environmental applications.

Adaptable to the severe outdoor conditions of wind power generation, agricultural appliances, military functions and other industries, the GT series features more than 12 different shell styles; high shock and vibration resistance; and a rugged, waterproof construction to IP67. The reverse bayonet coupling allows for at least 2,000 quick and easy matings in the field without extra tools via a quarter-turn mechanism. The easy installation, long lifespan and quick replacement of this product enable maximum operational time.

Amphenol's RADSOK-based GT series connectors are available with a vast assortment of options including solder or crimp termination, gold- or silver-plated contacts, military or commercial finishes, Neoprene or Viton inserts in addition to low smoke/flame retardant inserts, a diverse set of back-end fittings, aluminum or stainless steel components and over 250 layouts. Amphe-Power GT connectors are also interchangeable with Veam-style connectors. The Neoprene and low smoke/flame retardant inserts have an operating range of -55°C to more than 125°C, while the Viton inserts exceed that range by operating from -50°C to more than 200°C, allowing for greater adaptability in more harsh working environments.

The Amphe-Power GT connectors use Amphenol's patented RADSOK technology to provide up to 150% more ampacity than connectors without the technology. The hyperbolic socket of the RADSOK contact provides a larger contact surface area for greater conductivity, low voltage drop and low temperature rise. The low temperature drop that allows for more ampacity at higher temperatures is partnered with the GT connector's broad operating temperature range to provide increased flexibility in the field.

Pricing for the Amphe-Power GT starts at $30 per unit. Delivery is 12 weeks ARO.
