Direct to the Big Apple From Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on American Eagle Airlines


FORT WORTH, Texas, July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, today began nonstop service between The Eastern Iowa Airport inCedar Rapids (CID) andNew York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

American Eagle operates the round-trip service with its 37-seat Embraer ERJ-135 jets.

In addition to the new LaGuardia service, American Eagle has six round trips fromDallas/Fort Worth International Airport toCedar Rapids. American Eagle also servesCedar Rapids from Chicago O'Hare with seven daily round trips. AmericanConnection has three daily round trips fromSt. Louis toCedar Rapids.

American Airlines and American Eagle also have efforts under way to help aid victims of the recent tornadoes and flooding in theCentral United States, including theCedar Rapids area. AAdvantage members can help by contributing to the American Red Cross to support Central U.S. floods and tornadoes disaster relief activities. The American Red Cross will use the funds to help victims following these devastating natural disasters. Contributions to these funds can be made online at http://www.aa.com/DisasterRelief.

AAdvantage members will receive a one-time award of 250 bonus AAdvantage miles for a minimum donation of $50 or 500 bonus miles for a donation of $100 or more to these relief efforts through July 31, 2008.
