KARE 11 News Wins National Award for I-35W Bridge Coverage

The Radio-Television News Directors
Association (RTNDA) announced today that KARE 11 News has been given the
National Edward R. Murrow Award for Spot News. KARE 11 has been chosen for
the annual award based on a compilation of reports broadcast during the
immediate aftermath of the I-35W bridge collapse last August.
"It's a wonderful honor and recognition of the tremendous amount of tough,
consistent and sensitive work the entire staff put in to make this
possible," said Tom Lindner, Vice President for News at KARE 11. "This
staff stands ready to tell the stories of this community in any situation,
however challenging," he added.
The RTNDA is the world's largest organization exclusively serving
electronic journalism. It's annual Edward R. Murrow Awards honor excellence
at the national level.
KARE 11 News has won 13 national awards from the RTNDA since 1994.
