Quickcomm Renews U.S. Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Certification for Global Telecom Expense Management

NEW YORK, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Quickcomm Software Solutions, the leading global provider of telecom expense management (TEM), Software as a Service (SaaS) and ASP solutions, today announced the annual renewal of its Safe Harbor Certification from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Quickcomm is one of the few global TEM companies to adhere to the safe harbor framework that calls for "adequate protection" of personal data transferred fromEurope to the U.S. as required by the European Union's Directive on Data Protection (EU Directive).

The EU Directive prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-EU nations that do not meet the European adequacy standard for privacy protection. After a comprehensive and rigorous analysis of Quickcomm's involvement in the transfer and receipt of personal data related to TEM, including individual employee IDs, invoices and other personally identifiable information, Quickcomm was certified under the Safe Harbor provisions and continues to provide advanced data encryption technologies and procedures for companies within the EU transferring data to or via Quickcomm.

Headquartered inNew York, Quickcomm enables its growing base of enterprise customers inEurope, such as CSC and Cisco, to achieve higher cost savings in provisioning, billing and inventory departments in a highly secure software environment. The company practices global data integration and transfer protocols to ensure that its enterprise customers inEurope are able to securely automate wireless, landline and data expense management systems.

In order to meet the requirements of the EU Directive, Quickcomm has established corporate governance structures and internal procedures, including database encryption, to provide sufficient safeguards of personally identifiable information. Quickcomm's general privacy policy also follows stringent security procedures to safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of personal information.

"We not only educate our customers about protecting company data, we constantly update every part of our TEM solution to adhere to the highest levels of security and privacy compliance, especially for our customers in Europe," said Mark Evans, president and CEO of Quickcomm.
