DuPont Titanium Technologies Announces a Price Increase for Titanium Dioxide Products in Latin America
WILMINGTON, Del., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont Titanium
Technologies today announced a price increase for all DuPont(R) Ti-Pure(R)
titanium dioxide grades sold inLatin America.
Effective July 15, 2008, or as permitted by contract, prices for DuPont
coatings, plastics, specialty, paper, and laminate titanium dioxide grades
will increase $150 (USD) per metric ton inLatin America.
"The costs of energy and related goods and services have risen by 10
percent in a single week's time, forcing us into the unprecedented position of
imposing a second price increase just weeks after the one we announced in
June," said Ian Edwards, global business director - DuPont Titanium
Technologies (DTT). "The rate of change in energy costs far exceeds the rate
of change in TiO2 prices and the gap between the two continues to expand
rapidly in spite of the price actions taken to date."
