USBL Gaining Traction In Asia, Christensen to Oversee International Development
MILFORD, Conn., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The United States
Basketball League, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: USBL) is targetingAsia to
increase its brand and awareness internationally and has hired Spencer
Christensen as Director of International Development. In August, Christensen
will move toSeoul, South Korea to begin establishing a USBL presence during
the Korean Basketball League (KBL) season that runs from October through May.
Mr. Christensen will be scouting the various Korean teams for players with the
potential to make the leap to the USBL. This marks the second time the USBL
and KBL have partnered together. In July of 1997 players and coaches from both
leagues participated in a special developmental training camp.
"The KBL and the USBL share similar goals and structure," states
Christensen. "With the increased attention on basketball throughoutAsia with
the upcoming Olympics inChina, we feel having a presence here inAsia and
particularlySouth Korea this summer will not only increase our fan base, but
also to help talented players advance their careers."
Mr. Christensen will also explore ownership and sponsorship opportunities
in thePacific Rim with the 2008 Summer Olympics being held inChina.
Additionally, he will work to arrange exhibition games between KBL and USBL
teams as the USBL develops its brand throughoutAsia.
Spencer, aMassachusetts native, received his B.A. in Psychology from
Amherst College and his M.A. in International Relations from the University of
Denver. Mr. Christensen lived and worked inSouth Korea for nearly two years
during the 2002 World Cup.

The KBL was started in 1997 and has become one of the foremost
professional sports leagues inAsia. Ten KBL teams around the country compete
during the October to May season. In the past, KBL All-Star teams have
participated in exhibition games with the China Basketball Association.
