Genworth Taking Steps to Help Flood Victims in Midwest

(NYSE: GNW) announced today it will be initiating a number of actions to help
flood victims in the Midwest. The recent flooding has impacted numerous lives,
destroyed homes, and caused enormous damage to local and state infrastructure.
Genworth shares in the loss felt by the many impacted by these disasters. As
a result, we are committed to doing everything we can to help with relief
efforts to minimize the impact of this disaster on our customers, producers,

In general, for affected individuals, Genworth will extend grace periods;
limit policy cancellations, lapses, and non-renewals; and provide additional
time to gather the necessary documentation for life, long-term care, Medicare
supplement, and other accident and health insurance application documentation
and premiums. Genworth will also institute special handling arrangements for
the payment of life and health claims to ensure timely delivery in affected
areas.
