FORWARD OPERATING BASE RUSTAMIYAH, Iraq - Staff Sgt. Keith Anderson, a squad leader from Cincinnati, assigned to Company A, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, talks with an Iraqi Army sergeant who is in charge of a checkpoint near the Diyala River June 24. The site is an important route into Baghdad for transporting arms, equipment and personnel in and out of the city. Anderson helps train Iraqi Security Forces in proper search techniques of personnel and vehicles and ensures they have necessary supplies and equipment. FORWARD OPERATING BASE RUSTIMAYAH, Iraq - Spc. Thomas Campbell, an administrative clerk from Twin Falls, Idaho, speaks with his father June 25 about his plans to pursue a college degree in computer software engineering. Campbell recently completed a month-long, entry control point guard detail during which he performed the same duties as combat arms Soldiers. "I had the opportunity to interact with the Iraqi Army and Special Forces. He is responsible for inputting data used to place individuals who commit crimes against Iraqi civilians and security forces into the Theater Interment Facility.
