Is Barack Obama The Messiah?

Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is the kind of transformational statesman that we witness only once in a generation.

Hillary Clinton, the epitome of a status quo politician, had no chance competing against a historical figure who represents change and hope. Hillary was busy running a campaign, while Obama was the head of a movement. No campaign regardless how well run (And Hillary's wasn't run very well) stands a chance against a movement.

Obama transcends race, religion and political labels,he attracts devotees from all walks of life. Followers of Obama aren't familiar with his accomplishments, and they don't know where he stands on the issues, but they trust his judgement and wisdom. They know that he will lead them to the promised land of milk and honey and cheap and plentiful gas.

But does Obama transcend humanity as well? Is Obama the Messiah that will lead us to an age of peace and prosperity?

Obama has his own version of the Presidential Seal, only the Messiah, or perhaps the Antichrist, could get away with such presumptuousness. Obama has more money than God and Bill Gates, only the Messiah has the ability to turn Internet bandwidth into gold. Jesus Christ may have fed the multitudes with loaves of bread and fish, but Obama feeds their souls with words of change and hope. Women often faint at Obama rallies, only Rock Stars and the Messiah have such an effect on their disciples. Chris Matthews, a cynical commentator, exclaimed that he felt shivers running up his legs, after hearing Obama speak. Matthews is either a latent homosexual or he has been struck by the power of the Messiah.

Obama may or may not be the Messiah, but there's no question that he's a hero of epic proportions. Every hero needs a powerful enemy to vanquish, Obama destroyed the Powerful Clinton Machine. There are multitudes who are ready to anoint Obama the Messiah, simply because he humiliated and destroyed the evil Hillary Clinton.

I'm not ready to declare that Obama is the Messiah, but I would hate to be on the wrong side of the deity.

I feel sorry for John McCain, how do you campaign against the Messiah without looking like a heretic?
