New York Giants' Michael Strahan and Dreier LLP Host Charity Golf Tournament June 29-30


NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ --

WHAT: The 2008 Michael Strahan/Dreier LLP Charity Golf Tournament to benefit disadvantaged children. The tournament, now in its third year, is hosted by New York Giants great Michael Strahan and Dreier LLP, a law firm that specializes in commercial litigation, real estate, intellectual property, entertainment, sports, tax, and other practice areas. This year's event, which benefits the children's charities Children's Rights and Keep A Child Alive, features a private concert by an 11-time Grammy Award-winning singer and an auction of sports memorabilia by Michael Strahan on Sunday, June 29, followed by a celebrity golf tournament on Monday, June 30 featuring current and former professional football, baseball, basketball and hockey stars. Last year, the tournament raised more than $300,000 for children's charities.

Audemars Piguet joins the tournament this year as Lead Sponsor, and Continental Airlines is proud to support the event as the official airline of the Michael Strahan/Dreier LLP Charity Golf Tournament.

- Sunday, June 29, 7:00 p.m.: red carpet celebrity arrivals for Gala Pairings Party, which features a private concert and sports auction by Michael Strahan at TAO Restaurant, 42 E. 58th St. inNew York.

- Monday, June 30, 11:00 a.m.: Charity Golf Tournament media availability prior to shotgun start. Century Country Club,Purchase, NY.

WHO: New York Giants legend Michael Strahan and celebrity golfers including Marcus Allen, Lee Elder, Eric Dickerson, Deacon Jones, Julius Erving, Shawne Merriman, Dwight Freeney, Jessie Armstead, Harry Carson, Carl Banks, Jason Sehorn, Tony Siragusa, Vince Coleman, actor Chris McDonald (Happy Gilmore's "Shooter McGavin"), Richard Dent, Alonzo Mourning, Donnie Edwards, Marshall Faulk, John Kruk, Mario Lemieux, Ahmad Rashad, Ozzie Smith and Darryl Strawberry, among other celebrities and athletes. Expected celebrity guests at TAO include Justin Tuck, Nicole Murphy, Spike Lee, Charles Oakley and Angie Harmon.

WHY: The event will benefit Children's Rights, which advocates on behalf of abused and neglected children in the U.S., and Keep A Child Alive, which provides medical care and medicine for African children suffering from AIDS.
