Advertising Hall of Famer Charles D. Peebler Receives Honor for Work Supporting Cure for Progressive Supernuclear Palsy
HAILEY, Idaho, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles D. (Chuck) Peebler was
recognized and honored at his home inHailey, Idaho on June 17, 2008, for his
support to find a cure for the devastating neurological brain disease
Progressive Supernuclear Palsy (PSP), which is often misdiagnosed as
Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. Chuck has had PSP for several years and,
despite his illness, he and his wife Toni have worked tirelessly to raise
money for research and to support education through their foundation, the
Peebler PSP Research Foundation (www.peeblerpspresearch.org) and CurePSP --
the Society for Progressive Supernuclear Palsy (www.curepsp.org).

Since 2005, the Peebler family has raised over $2 million dollars. These
funds have supported PSP research and, in particular, the potential
breakthrough program which will conduct a full genome-wide analysis of PSP.
These results are being shared with scientists around the world and will open
doors to the cause and prevention of PSP.
Because of Chuck's work during the past years as a board member of
CurePSP, he will be named a "Transformational Benefactor" by the Board of
Directors of the organization. A ceremony to mark this occasion was held at
the Peebler residence on June 17th.
"Without a doubt, Chuck Peebler has done more for the cause of PSP
research in the past five years than any other person or foundation. We are
truly grateful for his involvement with CurePSP," said Richard Gordon Zyne,
President-CEO of CurePSP.
PSP is a fatal, degenerative brain disease that has no known cause,
treatment or cure. It causes complete disability by progressively impairing
all movement, balance, vision, speech and swallowing. CurePSP's vision is a
world free of PSP and it works to increase awareness, fund research toward a
cure, and educate healthcare by professionals.
