Ellen Degeneres to Marry Portia De Rossi
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Ellen DeGeneres gave Portia de Rossi a glittering ring with pink diamonds for their upcoming wedding that will air in part on DeGeneres's talk show.
DeGeneres, 50, who won an Emmy for outstanding talk-show host for the fourth year in a row, announced her plans to wed longtime girlfriend de Rossi, on her show back in May, shortly after California's Supreme Court ruled the previous ban on gay marriages as unconstitutional."

I wish DeGeneres congratulations on her Emmy and her upcoming nuptials. This is not another impulsive Britney Spears-type Hollywood wedding that makes a mockery of matrimony. DeGeneres and her girlfriend have been dating since 2004, they have been planning for their special day for a long time.
Celebrity marriages that air on TV don't have such a good track record, I hope Ellen changes her mind and has a private ceremony. The public doesn't need to intrude on such a solemn ceremony, I would be content to see the pics in People magazine.
Same-sex marriages are a novelty, I hope one day soon they will be so common, that the only thing unusual about Ellen's marriage will be that her partner is 15 years younger.
Kudos to Ellen DeGeneres, she took a risk by coming out of the closet years ago, and now she is one of the first gay entertainers to marry a same-sex partner.
