Cellular South Offers Fans Behind-the-Scenes Access to the 2008 Miss Mississippi Pageant


JACKSON, Miss., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cellular South, a leader in wireless lifestyle solutions and innovation, will use its PicSender application to upload photos of 2008 Miss Mississippi Pageant rehearsals and special events to an online album, available for public viewing through cellularsouth.com/missmsvote beginning Saturday, June 21, at midnight. As part of its fourth-year sponsorship of the pageant, the wireless carrier is also offering site visitors the chance to register to win one of 10 free Bluetooth headsets.

PicSender, one of Cellular South's premier wireless applications, automatically saves photos taken on customers' wireless devices to their home computers, personal email, and/or favorite Web sites. The pageant photos will be uplinked to an online Flickr album called "2008 Miss Mississippi Pageant Moments" and can be accessed at http://www.cellularsouth.com/missmsvote .

Additionally, Cellular South is partnering with the Miss Mississippi Corporation to sponsor the Miss Mississippi Viewers' Choice Text Messaging Contest, allowing pageant viewers to vote for their favorite contestant. This year's winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship award to the college or university of her choice, along with a mobile phone and one year of free wireless service from Cellular South. The winner of the Miss Mississippi Pageant title also will receive a mobile phone and one year of free service.

Cellular South customers can use their wireless phones to vote for a contestant at any time between Sunday, June 22 at 9 a.m. and Saturday, June 28 at 9 p.m. All pageant attendees, including non-Cellular South customers and wireless users who do not subscribe to text messaging, also can use complimentary Cellular South phones in the lobby of theVicksburg Convention Center to cast their text votes. The phones will be available during normal hours from June 24-26 and June 28. Voting closes at 9 p.m. on the final night of competition.
