Agingcare.com Adds Elder Care Expert Carole Bursack to Staff
NAPLES, Fla., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Agingcare.com, the online community
for caregivers, today announced that elder care author, columnist and speaker
Carol Bradley-Bursack has joined the staff and will serve as the moderator for
AgingCare's community.
The community portion of the website is where caregivers connect with
others in similar situations and provide mutual support, using discussion
boards. Publisher Joe Buckheit said, "We are delighted that Carol has joined
us. She has a compassion for caregivers that comes from her personal
experience caring for her own family members. She will be a great resource for
our members."
For more than 20 years, Bursack cared for six family members and a
neighbor. She is the author of "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their
Personal Stories." The book is used as a college text for gerontology and
nursing home administration classes. Her elder care newspaper column, "Minding
Our Elders," runs weekly in print and on-line. Bursack has been interviewed on
many national radio shows, including "Mr. Eldercare," "Today's Author," and
"The Ron Ross Show." Bursack is a member of AARP, Children of Aging Parents,
National Caregivers Advisory Panel, the National Family Caregivers
Association, National Council of Hospice and Palliative Professionals, the
National Association of Baby Boomer Women and the National Association of
Women Writers. As an expert in her field, she is featured in Montclair's Who's
Who in Heath and has written hundreds of articles for national publications.
"Isolation is one of the key negative feelings family caregivers
experience," Bursack says. "The AgingCare forum has attracted a passionate
group of caregivers determined to break that isolation. AgingCare.com has
developed a following that keeps growing as caregivers discover they have a
place to go for non-judgmental support. Forum participants know I'm one of
them, and that chances are good I've been through a version of what they are
going through. Because of this, I hope add to the trust that people already
feel on the AgingCare.com site, and to put a human face on the forum."
