Emerging 200 Initiative Kicks Off in Oakland June 18
Oakland One of Only 11 Cities Nationwide Selected to Offer Intense Training for Promising Inner-City Small Businesses
OAKLAND, Calif., June 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the U.S. Small Business Administration:
WHAT: The U.S. Small Business Administration will formally announce the launch of its Emerging 200 Initiative (e200) forOakland, one of 11 cities nationwide participating in an intensive training initiative to accelerate high-potential small business growth in America's inner cities. e200 will seek and identify 20 small poised-for-growth small businesses inOakland. The June 18 kick-off event is designed to provide the public and the media with more information about e200, how businesses can apply to be a part of it, and how the initiative can help Oakland's economy.
TheOakland e200 effort is a collaborative one. Joining SBA in bringing e200 toOakland are:
-- Mayor Ron Dellums and Oakland city officials
-- Inner City Advisors, Oakland
-- The East Bay Small Business Development Center
-- SCORE (America's Small Business Counselors)
-- Wells Fargo Bank
-- OneCalifornia Bank
-- Bay Area Development Company
-- OBDC Financial Service
-- Pacific Community Ventures
-- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
