The Oak Ridge Boys Walk of The Stars

By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze

Join our WALK OF STARS! You and the Oaks!

On Wednesday, June 18th, The Oak Ridge Boys have a special event in Branson, Missouri. They are walking from The Oak Ridge Boys Theatre to the new Skaggs Pediatric Unit and Skaggs Cancer Center - then, onto Branson Landing. The walk is approximately 2 miles, beginning at 10:30 AM with a refreshment break at Skaggs Community Health Center provided by Texas Land & Cattle Company. The walk will terminate at the Towne Square in Branson Landing. A special lunch (at a reduced price) will be available for all at the Texas Land & Cattle Company so you can eat with the Stars!

You can lunch with the Oak Ridge Boys and all the stars. The first 100 walkers that have collected more than $100 in pledges will receive a ticket to see the world famous Oak Ridge Boys here in Branson. Pledge packets may be picked up at The Oak Ridge Boys Theatre. All monies raised will go to the Skaggs Foundation as a gift to the new Skaggs Pediatric Unit and Skaggs Cancer Center.

Skaggs Community Health Center is a 165-bed community-owned and supported healthcare facility dedicated to improving the health of all area residents. Skaggs holds the highest national accreditation available for medical facilities from the Joint Commission.

Skaggs received the 2006, 2007 & 2008 Distinguished Hospital Awards for Clinical Excellence by HealthGradesR, the nation's leading independent healthcare quality Ratings Company. This means that Skaggs ranked in the top 5% of all hospitals in the nation for overall clinical performance.

For more information about the award and area hospital rankings, visit www.healthgrades.com.

As a not-for-profit institution, Skaggs channels any operating margin back into the health center's operating fund to continue providing exceptional care. Skaggs receives no tax monies. Skaggs Foundation raises funds to maintain and improve medical technology, provide compassionate care to patients and their loved ones, train future healthcare professionals, and to provide care to all who seek it, regardless of their ability to pay.

Reach the Skaggs Foundation by phone at 417-348-8002 or visit www.skaggs.net, then choose "Ways to Give." Your gift will be designated to the new Skaggs Pediatric Unit and Skaggs Cancer Center. Open in the Fall of 2007, the Skaggs Pediatric Unit entails eight patient rooms specifically designed to meet the needs of our younger patients. The new Skaggs Cancer Center recently opened in March and has been a welcome addition. With the addition of the Skaggs Cancer Center, complete cancer treatment services are now available in Branson.

Please let us know if your stars will join our stars for this worthwhile effort - let's help support our own at home!
