Weaving a Fresh Perspective for Female Youth from Music, Lyrics and Label by Hair Designer, Songwriter Tricia Greenwood

Extending conversations about manipulation and abuse with teen girls starts with the right notes from Greenwood

California Bay Area performing songwriter Tricia Greenwood gives the female population power with her latest single, Your Too Good.

When asked what inspired Greenwood to write this song, she replied, "When I arrived for my teenage student's guitar lesson, she was very upset. After sharing her feelings about a girl she knew that had been sexually assaulted by a boy, she said the girl was just 'too good' to have such a thing happen. My student's words echoed through my mind with visions of myself, having lost my parents as a teen, on my own of being sexually assaulted by a boy I trusted in Buffalo, N.Y. Her words inspired me to write this song - to enlighten girls to take back their power and to not be manipulated or abused. This music video is a great way to start the conversation on this difficult subject."

Greenwood combines intuitive lyrics with a catchy hook in the title as her recipe for encouragement for young women to recognize and take control of their lives. Her self-produced, online music video shows the red flags sometimes associated with innocent, yet typical, dating scenarios.

With roots as a hair designer and make-up artist at the Alexandria Salon in San Jose, Calif., Greenwod worked with Miracle Productions to film scenes of the music video in Los Gatos, Calif.

Instrumentation was performed by Robert Berry of Alliance, recorded at Soundtek Studios in Campbell, Calif. "Your Too Good" was mixed by Ken Lewis of Pro Tools Mixing "> whose client list includes Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige and many more.
