IIS has incorporated PIPS Technology ALPR into its Smart Roadside Inspection Systems (SRIS) solution. The SRIS solution is an integration of various technologies including ALPR, weigh-in-motion (WIM), radiation detection, thermal imaging, digital video and other leading edge technologies. The purpose of the SRIS solution is to provide greater intelligence on the commercial vehicles that travel the country's roadways, and to enable more efficient and effective enforcement by focusing on high-risk vehicles that may be carrying dangerous goods, hazardous materials, illegal drugs, or otherwise have a history of violations. This focused enforcement also minimizes impact on the flow of commerce.
