iSECUREtrac Demonstrates Crime Solving Tool for NBC Affiliate

OMAHA, Neb., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iSECUREtrac Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: ISEC), an industry leader in electronic monitoring solutions, demonstrated its electronic monitoring software and Crime Scene Inquiry for local NBC affiliate WOWT-TV (http://www.wowt.com/) Channel 6 in Omaha, NE during a recent on-site visit by the news station.

Prompting the visit was the arrest of an individual suspected of groping two young girls inOmaha, NE in May and June. While at iSECUREtrac, WOWT-TV interviewed Peter Michel, President and CEO of iSECUREtrac. "Using global positioning satellites, computers and the Internet, iSECUREtrac is helping law enforcement across the nation monitor people on probation or parole," said Michel. "The goal here is to help people behave better, change their behavior permanently and knowing that someone is really paying attention is a high motivator."

A key component in providing the support needed to effectively monitor individuals under electronic supervision is iSECUREtrac's web-based management and reporting software. Through this secure, encrypted application, supervisors and officers have access to reports showing an individual's status, location and movement. For example, when supervised with iSECUREtrac's GPS, a series of location points are plotted on a map. A supervising officer then knows exactly where an individual is, how fast he is traveling and where he's headed. In addition, electronic fences called inclusion or exclusion zones can be drawn to further control movement. An inclusion zone is a location where the individual's presence is required during certain hours and/or on certain days (e.g., anger management classes, job training, the individual's residence, etc). Prohibited locations (e.g., known gang hang-outs, elementary schools, playgrounds, a former spouse's residence, etc) are established as exclusion zones. When supervised with active GPS, zone violations are reported to a supervising officer in near real time which helps to ensure an individual is where he is supposed be and avoids those locations which are off limits.

Crime Scene Inquiry is another proprietary software program from iSECUREtrac that helps law enforcement officers solve crimes more quickly. Utilizing GPS location data, the program automatically eliminates or identifies suspects in the vicinity of a crime. GPS location data from iSECUREtrac monitoring devices are used in the analysis. Crime scene locations and the times of occurrence can be fed into the program by local, state or federal law enforcement agencies. iSECUREtrac's Crime Scene Inquiry also enables supervising officers to research historical patterns and locate "hot spots" frequented by monitored individuals. This capability provides authorities with information that could lead to the arrest of other suspects or criminals.
