Lesbian Kiss At Seattle Ballpark Creates Firestorm of Controversy
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Most of the time, a kiss is just a kiss in the stands at Seattle Mariners games. The crowd hardly even pays attention when fans smooch.
But then last week, a lesbian complained that an usher at Safeco Field asked her to stop kissing her date because it was making another fan uncomfortable
As the Mariners played the Boston Red Sox on May 26, Sirbrina Guerrero and her date were approached in the third inning by an usher who told them their kissing was inappropriate, Guerrero said.
The usher, Guerrero said, told them he had received a complaint from a woman nearby who said that there were kids in the crowd of nearly 36,000 and that parents would have to explain why two women were kissing."

A kiss is just a kiss, and nobody bats an eye when a couple kisses in public, but this particular smooch has created a controversy. The incident is big news in Seattle, and in the blogosphere. Stop the presses: Lesbian couple locks lips in public. My goodness, are we in Iran? Oh, I forgot the president of Iran claims there are no homosexuals in his country.
In my house I can lay down the law: Guests please refrain from smoking, necking and passing gas. But when I'm in a public place, I can't expect people to refrain from doing things I find aesthetically unpleasing.
If a kid at a baseball game asks his Mom why two ladies are kissing, she should simply respond: Because they love each other honey.
There is a double standard at the Seattle ballpark, the lesbian couple was singled out. When I lived in Oakland I attended hundreds of baseball games, and I witnessed many heterosexual couples kissing, and to my knowledge none of them was ever reprimanded for having the temerity to kiss in public.
These Neanderthals who get their panties in a twist when two ladies kiss in a ballpark probably don't get into a tizzy when their young children witness football players mauling each other. Violence is OK, but a tender Lesbian kiss is sin against God Almighty.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love! I think it's beautiful when people kiss, regardless if they are a married couple, horny teenagers or lesbian girlfriends.
A public kiss is rarely inappropriate, but if any couple (homosexual or heterosexual) goes beyond kissing, and starts groping each other, then they should leave the ballpark and go to a motel.
The minor league team that I patronize is so boring, that I wish there were a few kissing lesbian couples in the bleachers. Lord knows, we can never have enough kissing lesbians.
