Courtney Love Suicidal: Kurt Cobain's Ashes Stolen

By

The 1980's pop music scene was a wasteland populated by arena rock dinosaurs and heavy metal pretty boys -- and then came Nirvana fronted by Kurt Cobain.

Nirvana stripped rock of its pretentiousness and glam; the group's "grunge" sound was basic Rock and Roll.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit", Nirvana's most well known song, absolutely blew me away the first time I heard it. With its alternating loud and quiet dynamic, its undecipherable lyrics, and angst dripping from every note, it quickly became an anthem for Generation X.

As a writer I hate to say this, but the lyrics of this masterpiece are almost superfluous, you can hear the message of alienation in every yell and every garbled verse.

Kurt Cobain committed suicide on April 5, 1994, but his music lives on in the hearts of his fans and on the radio airwaves all over the world.

Fourteen years after his untimely death, Kurt Cobain is once again in the news because his ashes were stolen from his widow:

"Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's ashes have been stolen, according to his troubled widow Courtney Love.

The legendary singer's ashes were reportedly swiped during a robbery at Love's Los Angeles home recently.

Love had kept the grunge musician's ashes in a pink bear-shaped bag, along with a strand of his golden locks.

Clothes and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry were also taken from Love's home about two weeks ago, it's being claimed.

The callous theft has apparently left Love feeling 'suicidal'.

She says, 'I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting right now, I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do.'"

Quotation from NZHerald.Co.NZ

I sympathize with Courtney's loss, but she still has the memories and magical music of her late husband.

Courtney Love is a singer and movie star, and her every utterance is taken seriously by her fans. Her husband died from self-inflicted shotgun wounds, she should be the last person in the world who publicly contemplates suicide when misfortune strikes.

In spite of all the trials and tribulations, life is good. Suicide is never the answer, there is so much in life to enjoy. Kurt's music never fails to inspire me, I hope Courtney finds solace and comfort in his music.
