The Privileged are Irritating Others By Smoking At Public Places in India
By Gurmit Singh
Dear Advocate Balbir Singh Sooch, Sikh Vichaar Manch (Punjab State),
Waheguru jee ka Khalsa Waheguru jee kee Fateh
Sikhs are fortunate that under Sikh Religion Command, we are forbidden to consume/smoke/use any Tobacco product. Here in Australia, we often take up with the Cancer Society and Government that they should follow our example, which would definitely reduce the chances of 'cancer'.
Whereas on the other hand most of the Governments encourage the production of Tobacco and manufacturing of Cigaretts so that Governments get higher revenue by way of Customs and Excise Duties. In fact, they should not allow production of Tobacco, rather they should encourage that land, labour, time and energy for the production of other crops, which may feed the humanity, and not kill them.
Please continue good work by awakening others about the danger of Tobacco and other such bad habits.
Gurmit Singh (Sydney - Australia)
