Johnson Controls Increases Disaster Relief Assistance to China
MILWAUKEE, May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- As the scope of the devastation inChina
has become known, Johnson Controls has increased its original donation to the
Red Cross Society ofChina from $500,000 to $1 million for disaster relief
efforts. In addition, Johnson Controls' employees located inChina have
contributed over $300,000 and Johnson Controls' Joint Ventures have
contributed $130,000 to the disaster relief efforts as well.

"This disaster has struck a personal chord with our employees, who have
made significant personal and financial commitments to help the people of
China," said Stephen A. Roell, Chairman and CEO of Johnson Controls. "We all
feel a deep sense of responsibility to give more and support the emergency
responders who are working tirelessly to save lives and prevent further loss."
Along with providing financial assistance, Johnson Controls is also
donating numerous Optima batteries and tents to aid in the disaster response
efforts. In total, Johnson Controls, its employees and its joint ventures
have donated over $1.4 million (RMB 10 million) in financial support.
Johnson Controls has approximately 15,000 employees inChina. To date,
the earthquake has not directly impacted its facilities.
