Miller Lite Providing Ultimate Reward for Pro Sports' Champions
MILWAUKEE, May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- With the heroes of the hardwood fighting
to play in pro basketball's ultimate series and hockey's top teams vying for a
shot at one of the oldest trophies in all of sports, Miller Lite today
announced it will award members of pro sports' championship teams with
something more than a just a trophy: All players and coaches who are a part
of a 2008-2009 major professional sports championship season will be eligible
to receive the ultimate prize -- free Miller Lite for a year, where legal.
If there's a brand that understands what it takes to be a champion, it's
Miller Lite. Thirty-five years ago, Miller Brewing Company successfully
introduced a revolutionary new product named Miller Lite, a beer with the
perfect combination of great taste and refreshment. Today, Miller Lite is the
only light beer to win four World Beer Cup(R) gold awards* and has established
itself as the ultimate light beer.
"We want to recognize those who have also achieved that 'ultimate' status
as the best at what they do," said Antonio Maldonado, Miller Lite marketing
vice president. "A lot goes into becoming a winner and we're looking forward
to rewarding these champions with the ultimate light beer."
Miller Lite will be available to all legal-drinking-age players and
coaches who win pro basketball, pro hockey, pro baseball or pro football
championships in the 2008-2009 season. Any eligible members of the teams can
send an email to champions@mbco.com and they will be contacted to coordinate
their prize.**
* Miller Lite won the gold award in the World Beer Cup American-style
Light Lager category in 2006, 2002, 1998 and 1996.
** Free Miller for a year is equivalent to three cases per month.
Depending on the legalities in the states where winners reside, the
prize may be in the form of an American Express gift card to be used
towards the purchase of Miller Lite. Official rules and eligibility
details available upon request to champions@mbco.com.
