Media Is The Masses: In Love With Sophia*

If you perceive- or rather conceive- someone as absolutely evil or good, then they have been typecast into an assigned role and reputation imagined by you. The good can do no wrong, and the bad can do nothing right. As a society, we conform- or contort- many things according to propagandized myth of common conception and presumption.

Men can't wear women's clothes, but women can wear men's?
Really? How do you figure that? And why should a person's sexual attractiveness be nullified by an acknowledged familial relation? She would be sexually appealing to you if you didn't know she was your sister? Why? She still has the same body.

Taboo exists at the extreme ends of sexual relationships: virginity/celibacy and prostitution/ promiscuity.

Negative connotation has been fraudulently superimposed. But why?

Pre-marital or extra-marital casual sex is disdainful because...? Nudity is "dirty" because...? Pornography is disturbing because...? Pedophilia is despicable because...?

Having sex with your sibling or cousin or parent is disgusting because...? Prostitution is deplorable because...?

Masturbation is distasteful because..? Virginity and celibacy are defective because...? Curious children playing an innocent game of "You show me yours, I'll show you mine" is debaucherous because...?

Why?

Just because you say so? Because others have said so? Well, that's a bit arbitrary.

Closed minded. Small minded. Simple minded.

What is wrong with sex for the sake of sex between (or among) consenting participants? What's wrong with engaging or enjoying the spiritual experience of a "sacred union"? What is wrong with consensual or mutual sexual release or expression?

Prostitution was recognized and accepted as an acceptable part of life by many ancient societies.

Individuals who choose to serve and service others sexually voluntarily provide a useful, desired and desirable public and personal service. Not just through sexual services rendered, but also offering a form of psycho-therapy, sexual exploration/experimentation and massage. Why demean and disparage them?

Perhaps they may even be considered artisans. The same applies to strippers and exotic dancers and "models". Why are scantily clad and sexually posed models, actors and singers more socially acceptable than strippers and dancers, anyway?

And for the record, sex and nudity can be innocent and pure, and are not innately "nasty", lecherous or defiling.

Why so neurotically reactionary, adversarial and ambivalent about sex?

Why is something wrong to you?

Most people don't actually think about it, or think it through. They don't really know why they think such things are wrong. They merely adopt an assumed consensus conception.

But this isn't only about sex; I'm referring to all things thoughtlessly assumed and perpetuated as axiomatic and beyond examination or explanation.

*"Sophia" means wisdom; philosophy means "love of wisdom".
