HotStop Anti-Scald Shower Head Receives Popular Mechanics Editor's Choice Award
GREENSBORO, N.C., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- American Valve is proud to
announce that its HotStop anti-scald shower head was awarded the Editor's
Choice Award from Popular Mechanics magazine at the 2008 National Hardware
Show. HotStop was one of thirteen products given this prestigious award out
of thousands of new products this year.
The Editor's Choice award highlights products with outstanding achievement
in new product design and innovation. Recipients of this award are selected
and judged by Popular Mechanics editorial staff.
Editor-In-Chief James B. Meigs presented the award to Fred and Marcy
Guterman of American Valve during a private ceremony at theLas Vegas
Convention Center on May 6th. "We are honored to receive this coveted award
from Popular Mechanics," said Marcy Guterman, Marketing Director for American
Valve. "We hope that this national recognition brings attention to the
serious risks of scalds in the shower and bath. Thousands of children and
adults are severely injured by hot tap water every year and HotStop prevents
these accidents."
Popular Mechanics Senior Editor Ray Berendsohn writes, "A
temperature-sensing valve shuts off water flow in this anti-scald shower head.
You don't have to be a plumber to install this product. Simply unthread an
existing shower head and thread on this one in its place. The HotStop cuts
off the flow of water at 117 degrees F and above to prevent burning-hot
accidents before that morning cup of Joe."
Popular Mechanics is a science and technology magazine published by the
Hearst Corporation. The magazine has been published for over 100 years and
has nearly 9 million readers each month. For more information about the
