CMS Energy Announces Amy Sandgren Plaster Named Executive Director of Federal Affairs
JACKSON, Mich., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amy Sandgren Plaster, a
20-yearWashington veteran with extensive congressional and government
relations experience, has been named executive director of federal affairs for
CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy.
Plaster will be in charge of CMS Energy'sWashington office and lead the
company's federal governmental and public affairs efforts. She will assume her
new position June 4.
"Amy brings a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge ofWashington to
this job. Her background, skills and expertise will make her a strong leader
for our company inWashington and I'm pleased that she's joining our team,"
said David Mengebier, CMS Energy's senior vice president of governmental and
public affairs and chief compliance officer.
Plaster comes to CMS Energy after serving as chief of staff to Michigan
U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra since 2004. Plaster has held several staff positions
with Hoekstra since 1993, including legislative counsel and chief counsel.
From 2000 to 2004, she served as the director of federal policy for the
Eastman Kodak Co. From 1988 to 1992, she served as the administrator of the
Food Marketing Institute political action committee.
Plaster, a native ofMuskegon, Mich., holds a 1987 bachelor's of arts
degree in political science and philosophy from Hope College, inHolland,
Mich. She earned a law degree in 1992 from theWashington College of Law at
The American University, inWashington, D.C., and was admitted to theMaryland
bar that year.
