Hamilton Sundstrand, Rockford, Ill. Bargaining Unit Approves New Contract
WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Local 592 of the United
Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW),
representing hourly employees at Hamilton Sundstrand inRockford, Ill.,
ratified a new three-year labor contract today, by a vote of 92 percent in
favor.
Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation
(NYSE: UTX), is headquartered inWindsor Locks, Conn. The agreement covers
more than 400 production and maintenance employees inRockford.
Doug Balsbough, vice president of human resources said, "We are pleased
that Hamilton Sundstrand employees have ratified the contract. The negotiating
teams for both the company and the union worked hard to reach an agreement
acceptable to both sides."
With 2007 revenues of $5.6 billion, Hamilton Sundstrand employs
approximately 18,600 people worldwide. Among the world's largest suppliers of
technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products, the company
designs, manufactures and services aerospace systems and provides integrated
system solutions for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft.
It is also a major supplier for international space programs.
