MEGA TV Launches New Full Power Affiliate in Puerto Rico

- Company Signs Retransmission Agreement Offering Mega TV's High Quality Programming Via WSJU-TV, Channel 30

Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) (NASDAQ: SBSA) announced today that it has signed a retransmission agreement with WSJU-TV, Channel 30, starting August 25th and making the station the newest affiliate of Mega TV in Puerto Rico. The agreement now makes Mega TV's high quality programming available throughout the island to Puerto Rican residents. Mega TV programming is also broadcasted through cable and satellite systems in Puerto Rico.

Luis Roldan, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MEGA TV in Puerto Rico, was the main speaker in the press conference held today from 11 AM to 2 PM at The Banker's Club, where the members of the press and top advertising agency executives were welcome with a brunch and a presentation of Channel 30's plans.

"This agreement allows all of Puerto Rico to enjoy the best Mega TV prime time shows," said Luis Roldan, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mega TV in Puerto Rico. "In addition, we will be tailoring broadcasts to give viewers a local flavor with journalists covering the local news and main events for shows such as 'Maria Elvira Live,' 'Paparazzi' and 'Mega News.' We will also be broadcasting a political show, hosted by Ruben Roman and Eric Toro."

"Mega TV, through the team's hard work and dedication, is way ahead of its time," said Cynthia Hudson-Fernandez, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Mega TV. "We are looking forward to the increased value that this agreement will add as Mega TV continues to be a leading competitor in Hispanic TV. But, more importantly, we are looking forward to delivering nothing but the highest quality programming to Puerto Rico."

The audience will have access to PR WSJU-Channel 30, a full power licensed station that broadcasts from San Juan that will be available on basic television and through satellite and cable systems such as, Liberty Cablevision, Choice Cable TV, One Link Communication and Dish Network.

An important element of Mega TV's launch plan of Channel 30 will be the broadcasting of concerts given by Mega music stars like Luis Fonsi, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Chayanne, El Gran Combo and many others, due to the strategic alliance with renowned promoter and producer Tony Mojena.

Renowned hosts of popular radio and TV show El Circo, Gangster and Funky Joe, also announced the strategic alliance between their new production company, 33.3 multimedia and Mega TV.

Mega TV's programming is currently available through Channel 169 of DirecTV, which has shown tremendous performance ratings, making it one of the top channels on that platform.

Do not miss the excellent Hispanic programming of Mega TV by watching WSJU-Channel 30 in Puerto Rico and get to know why MEGA TV has been the fastest-growing television station in the history of Spanish-language television.
