Freedom Alliance Honors Port Hueneme Sailors at Troop Appreciation Dinner
"Seabees" Treated to Good Food and Live Music
On Thursday May 8, Freedom Alliance sponsored a Troop Appreciation Dinner for 45 Navy Sailors from Port Hueneme in Oxnard, California. The event at the Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar was held to say "thank you" to the sailors for their service and sacrifice.
"These Appreciation Dinners are hosted with the utmost respect for our hard-working members of the Military as a way to thank them for their dedication and service to our nation," said Freedom Alliance President Thomas Kilgannon. "We are proud to sponsor this night for them."
The Sailors are members of the United States Naval Construction Force, also known as "Seabees." For over 60 years the Seabees have built bases, bulldozed and paved thousands of miles of roadway and airstrips, and accomplished a myriad of construction projects.
The Troop Appreciation Dinner in Oxnard was one of seventeen similar events held by Freedom Alliance in support of our troops so far this year. Other Troop Appreciation Dinners have been hosted for servicemen and women at Fort Bliss in Texas, Fort Carson in Colorado, Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas, McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey and Fort Bragg in North Carolina, among others.
In addition to hosting Troop Appreciation Dinners, Freedom Alliance distributes care packages to military personnel deployed overseas and provides scholarships to children of military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident, among other programs.
