Thomson Reuters Honors Temple University Health System for Initiative That Cut Costs $64 Million and Grew Clinical Service Lines
ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The healthcare business
of Thomson Reuters today honored 13 hospitals for excellence in performance
improvement at the fourth annual presentation of the Insight Awards. Winners
of the 2008 awards were announced during the Thomson Reuters Healthcare
Advantage Conference at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort inOrlando, Florida.
Temple University Health System won the Insight Award for Overall
Performance for a multi-year initiative, using Thomson Reuters tools and
services including ACTION O-I(R) and Market Expert(R), to reduce costs and
increase clinical service line growth.
The health system integrated the ACTION O-I performance benchmarking
solution into its operational infrastructure to reduce cost by $64.1 million
in the current fiscal year. Simultaneously, it pursued a growth strategy in
six clinical service lines using Market Expert strategic planning data to
define markets and evaluate competitors for specific services.
The awards were given in four categories: clinical, operational, strategic
planning and marketing, and overall performance. The winners are listed below.
