(ISC)2(R) SecureAmericas D.C.-Area Event to Address Information Security 'Hot Button' Issues

The event will include a "town-hall" meeting keynote featuring members of the Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th president -- Amit Yoran, chairman and CEO of NetWitness Corp., Jerry Dixon, former director of the National Cyber Security Division at U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Bruce McConnell, president of McConnell International and Government Futures. Participants will outline some of the Commission's primary security agenda items to address with the next president ofthe United States when he or she takes office. The session moderator, Lynn McNulty, CISSP, director of government affairs at (ISC)2, will then open up the discussion to the audience, who will have a chance to bring up major security issues they feel the Commission should address with the next president.

Amit Yoran will discuss the future of the government's information assurance program in a separate session entitled, "Through the Looking Glass: Looking at the Future of the U.S. Government's Cybersecurity Strategy." During this session, Mr. Yoran will further define how networks and systems should be securely validated in today's threat environment and what kinds of information on attacks should be shared across agencies.

Also featured on the agenda is keynote speaker Mischel Kwon, deputy director for IT Security Staff (ITSS), acting deputy director of IT security and chief security technologist, U.S. Department of Justice, who will be discussing how to architect and secure systems that support an IT-dependent generation in a session entitled, "Defending the Network Against You: The Key to Stronger Security."
