Amil Has Strong Growth With High Profitability


RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, May 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amilpar (BOVESPA: AMIL3, Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ e Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest managed care organization inBrazil, announced today its consolidated results for the first quarter 2008.

                         1st QUARTER 2008 Highlights

      -- Total membership stood at 2.84 million at the end of March, 33.3%
         above the same period last year and 5.5% higher than the previous
         quarter.

      -- Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 997.3 million, 29.3% more
         than in the 1Q07 and 4.6% higher than the 4Q07.

      -- Adjusted EBITDA amounted to R$ 121.8 million, a year-on-year increase
         of 26.1%. Adjusted EBITDA Margin registered 12.2% in the 1Q08.

      -- The Medical Loss Ratio for the healthplan membership (including
         R$ 4 million, or 0.4 p.p., in additional costs related to the dengue
         fever outbreak) closed the quarter at 65.7%, 2.6 p.p. lower than in
         the 1Q07.

      -- On the 1Q08, the Company posted an adjusted Net Income of
         R$ 89.6 million, 44.8% up on the 1Q07.
