After 55 years and 14 one-man shows at New York's Kraushaar Galleries, the distinguished American painter Joe Lasker is pleased to present his works in his first one-man show in Connecticut. The exhibition and sale will take place on Saturday, May 31, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pre-sale is available by appointment from May 25-30.

The exhibition and sale of cityscapes, landscapes, portraits, fantasies, interiors, seascapes and still lifes will take place in the home of Mary Pugh at 9 Outer Rd., Norwalk, Conn., which boasts dramatic views of the marshlands and Long Island Sound that have long inspired Mr. Lasker. The mid-century house itself is an important work by architect Edgar Tafel, author of Apprentice to Genius: Years with Frank Lloyd Wright.

- The New York Times, 1947-74

"Extraordinary technique, engaging wit a¦ Lasker's riffs on art history, life and convention are delivered with refreshing charm, irony and skill."
- Mary Schneider Enriquez, Art News, January, 2004

Mr. Lasker's works repose in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Hirshhorn Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, California Palace of the Legion of Honor, Baltimore Museum, Wadsworth Atheneum, Tel Aviv Museum and many other museums.
