Retain Monarchy

Retain Monarchy

By Bishal Shah

We, Nepali diaspora demand to retain Nepal as the Constitutional Monarchy with high and sober respect being provided to the institution of Monarchy, and the restoration of Nepal as the only Hindu nation of the world. Failing to do so by the Constituent Assembly (CA) in its first sitting will push the nation towards the Final Jana-Andolan in a form of civic revolution lead by the patriots/nationalists and the religious people loving to see Nepal a peaceful and sovereign. We remind the Seven Party Alliance and Maoists (SPAM) Government of Nepal and the newly elected CA members of different parties, do justice to the modern Nepal established 240 years back or be prepared to face the civic revolution which will push all political parties and the political leaders nowhere but to an extinction.

The Nepali leaders must abide by the agreement with the King which ultimately ended his absolute rule. When the King has practiced each and every letters of the agreement honestly, the parties must exhibit the same honesty. Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, the power monger unethical personality is shamelessly after the hypothetical first presidency of Nepal and that is what inspires him to kill all the democratic norms and values. Notwithstanding the Prime Minister Koirala's majority party members suggesting him not to day dreaming for the Presidency, the dirty-deaf ear has been turned to them and he continuously declines to oblige by the friendly suggestion based on reality. We diaspora, therefore, urgently demand GP Koirala's resignation from the post of Prime Minister as well as from the post of party President of Nepali Congress. It is his inefficiency paved the way for the Nepali Congress debacle.

The incumbent Prime Minister's role together with the opportunistic tendency of UML's former Secretary General Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Dr. Bhattarai made an easy access to Indians, political leaders and even Indian Ambassador, to dictate on Nepal's internal matters. Indian Marxist leader Sita Ram Yechuri's liking to see Girija Babu as the first President of Nepal, Prachandaji as all powerful Executive Prime Minister and Subash Nemwangji as the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly speaks the loud. Never in the history of the sovereign and independent Nepal, something like this naked intervention has ever been felt. Thanks to the leaders of New Nepal. Also thanks to the people blindly following their immoral leaders.

Wake up Nepali People! Say no to whatever political leaders are imposing on us. Say no to the political leaders' invitation to foreign leaders and officials to intervene nakedly in our internal matters. Nepal is ours. It belongs to us. We are the sovereign to decide our better future. We all know, our better future rests if our nation survives as independent and sovereign. Our sovereignty and independence rest upon the Monarchy's continuation. It will always protect us against the foul game in Nepal.

Monarchy is the symbol of Nepal's national unity and identity. It will protect us from division amongst us. It is shedding light of peace on Nepali land. Any effort trying to do away with the Monarchy without the direct consent of the Nepali populace will inevitably result into the civic revolution of nucleus effects. The first sitting of the Constituent Assembly can either decide to hold referendum on Monarchy or leave the subject untouched giving the Monarchy the position of national unity and the guardian of tradition, culture and religions of Nepal.

On behalf of the Nepali diaspora,

Bishal Shah,
Chairman, Nepali Nationalists Organization (NNO), USA.
