Fairbank Farms Issues Voluntary Recall for Selected Ground Beef Products
ASHVILLE, N.Y., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Fairbank Farms, a national ground
beef producer, is issuing a voluntary recall of selected ground beef products
produced at itsAshville, N.Y., facility and sold through Price Chopper,
Shaw's, BJ's, and Wilson Farms retail outlets and C&S Wholesale distributor.
The affected product may contain small pieces of hard plastic. All
recalled products have either a "sell-by" date of 05/13/08, 05/15/08, or a
"Julian date 124" on the package's label. The products that are being recalled
include:
Sell-by Date 05/13/08:
Price Chopper Fresh Homestyle Ground Beef Chuck Patty, 80% Lean/20% Fat,
(4 count), 1.3-pound
Price Chopper Fresh Homestyle Ground Beef Chuck Patty, 80% Lean/20% Fat,
(8 count), 3.0-pound
Price Chopper Fresh Homestyle Ground Beef Round Patty, 85% Lean/15% Fat,
(4 count), 1.3-pound
Price Chopper Fresh Homestyle Ground Beef Round Patty, 85% Lean/15% Fat,
(8 count), 3.0-pound
Price Chopper Fresh Homestyle Ground Beef Sirloin Patty, 90% Lean/10% Fat,
(4 count), 1.3-pound
Julian Date 124:
Shaw's Ground Sirloin Bulk, 90% Lean/10% Fat, 1.2-pound
Shaw's Ground Beef Bulk, 80% Lean/20% Fat, 1.2-pound
Shaw's Ground Beef Patty, 80% Lean/20% Fat, (4 count), 1.3-pound
Shaw's Ground Beef Patty, 80% Lean/20% Fat, (8 count), 3.0-pound
Sell-by Date 05/15/08:
Fairbank Chuck Ground Beef Patty, (4 count), 1.0-pound (Wilson Farms and
C&S)
BJ's Ground Beef Patty, 85% Lean/15% Fat, (16 count), 5.3-pound
Consumers are encouraged to check the packaging of any of these products
to determine whether they are included in the recall. Only those products that
are listed above with package labels containing the "sell-by" dates of
05/13/08, 05/15/08, or Julian 124 are included in this recall.
These products should not be consumed. They should be returned to the
store where they were purchased for a full refund.
Fairbank Farms is working with its customers to initiate this voluntary
recall after learning that affected product entered the marketplace.
