Inforum Golf Classic Events Support Programs that Help Women Lead and Succeed in the Workplace


DETROIT andLANSING, Mich., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds ofMichigan business leaders will swing their golf clubs at two Inforum Golf Classic events this summer to support programs that help women rise to leadership positions and succeed in the workplace.

Inforum Golf Classics will be held at Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club Oakland Township on June 11 and the Country Club ofLansing on July 21.

Proceeds will benefit the Inforum Center for Leadership (ICL), a non-profit organization that conducts research and offers highly regarded leadership development programs that allow women to challenge themselves and reach the next level in their careers.

ICL is privately funded through corporate investors and by the individuals who participate in ICL leadership training programs.

Funds raised at the Inforum Golf Classics support Inforum Center for Leadership programs such as:

* Executive Leadership, a highly rated, six-month leadership development course for women that competes with more expensive programs across the country. Nearly 500 women have graduated from the course since it was established by some ofMichigan's most influential businesswomen in 2002.

* Executive Presence is a one-day workshop where women learn how to enhance their confidence, stature and command of skills needed to deliver a strong personal presence to help reach their leadership goals.

* Inforum Center for Leadership collects data on women's leadership and issues the bi-annual Women's Leadership Index that is used by corporations that are committed to building a diverse workforce.

    Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
    Location: Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club in Oakland Township.
    Time: 7:30 a.m. registration; 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
    Cost: $200 per golfer; Golf Clinic, $65; Networking luncheon only, $40
    (Inforum members and guests).
    Honorary Chair is Mark Davis, Chairman of the RARE Foundation, and
    committee chair is Kim Stine, Vice President, Michigan Financial/John
    Hancock.

    Mid-Michigan
    Date:  Monday, July 21, 2008.
    Location: Country Club of Lansing.
    Time: 7 a.m. registration/continental breakfast; 8 a.m. shotgun start.
    Cost: $175 per golfer. Lunch only, Inforum members, $45 guests, $55.
    Event chair: Liz Haar, President & CEO, Accident Fund Insurance Company of
    America.
