Boys Like Girls & Good Charlotte Ready to Co-Headline the Soundtrack Of Your Summer Tour With Special Guests Metro Station & The Maine
NEW YORK, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The rapidly-risingBoston-based rock/pop
band Boys Like Girls will join forces with the multi-platinum-selling American
pop/punk ensemble Good Charlotte as co-headliners on the upcoming Soundtrack
Of Your Summer tour (full itinerary follows). In what promises to be one of
the year's biggest blockbuster concert extravaganzas, the Soundtrack Of Your
Summer tour will include sets from special guest artists Metro Station and The
Maine.
News of the Boys Like Girls/Good Charlotte tour arrives shortly after
"Thunder," the third single from the eponymous Boys Like Girls debut album,
impacts Top 40 radio. A remix of "Thunder" posted on the band's MySpace page
(www.myspace.com/boyslikegirls) has already accrued more than 850,000 plays
since its initial posting in March 2008. Boys Like Girls recently ran a
contest encouraging fans to create their own music videos for "Thunder" with
the best entry scoring a trip for the winner to the band's official video
shoot for the track.
"Thunder" is the latest in an unbroken string of Boys Like Girls crossover
hits, following the success of the RIAA platinum certified "The Great Escape"
-- which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 (#23) Top 10 on the Billboard Pop
100 (#9), Pop 100 Airplay (#7), and Top 40 Mainstream (#8) charts -- and
"Hero/Heroine" -- which reached the Top 40 on the Pop 100 (#32), Pop 100
Airplay (#31), Top 40 Mainstream (#22) and Hot Digital Songs (#32) while
peaking in the top half (#43) of the Billboard Hot 100.
Produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco,Northstar, Hit The Lights),
the RIAA Gold-certified Boys Like Girls debut album spent more than forty
weeks on the Billboard Heatseekers Top New Artist chart and the SoundScan
Alternative New Artist Sales chart, reaching #1 on both charts for three weeks
running in June 2007. The album hit #55 on the Billboard Top 200 that August,
remaining on that chart well into 2008. Boys Like Girls has achieved total
sales of well over a half million units.
Boys Like Girls, a veritable touring machine minting pure fandemonium at
every show, headlined the SRO "Tourzilla" concert extravaganza after spending
the summer of 2007 performing a series of highly-successful shows on the Vans
Warped Tour. The group spent much of January 2008 touringJapan and the UK
before returning stateside for a run of shows opening for Avril Lavigne from
March through May 2008.

Recently returning from a highly successful international tour Good
Charlotte, made up of twin brothers JOEL MADDEN (vocals) and BENJI MADDEN
(guitars/vocals), BILLY MARTIN (guitars), PAUL THOMAS (bass) and DEAN
BUTTERWORTH (drums) continue to take the world by storm. Hailing fromWaldorf,
Maryland, Good Charlotte topped charts worldwide with the group's 2002 break-
out album, the hugely successful The Young and the Hopeless, which included
the hit singles "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" and "Girls and Boys."
Returning to work with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Avril
Lavigne) -- who helmed Good Charlotte's eponymous 2000 breakthrough debut --
was the decisive change that reinvigorated the band. After the triple platinum
The Young and the Hopeless and 2004's subsequent million-selling follow-up The
Chronicles of Life and Death (which were realized with producer Eric
Valentine), GC singer Joel Madden says its modus operandi on their recent
album was simply to "make a record that we loved and that felt good."
GoodCharlotte's latest release, Good Morning Revival (Epic/Daylight), is
the best-selling group's fourth full-length album and features the hit singles
"The River" and "(I Don't Wanna Be In Love) Dance Floor Anthem" -- which the
Associated Press called "An instantly infectious toe-tapper." GoodCharlotte's
newest single "Where Would We Be Now" will officially impact radio on May 20
and will be available everywhere digitally. Fans can hear the "Where Would You
Be Now" remix online now at www.goodcharlotte.com or

TheHollywood-based Metro Station -- Trace Cyrus (vocals, guitar), Mason
Musso (vocals, guitar), Blake Healy (keyboards, synthesizer), and Anthony
Improgo (percussion) -- create a hook-filled danceable pop sound mirroring the
yearning of their generation and the excitement of contemporary life. Masters
of traditional song craft and modern technology, Metro Station released its
eponymous debut album (Red Ink/Columbia Records) in September 2007. The
group's current single, "Shake It," reached #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and
#22 on the Pop 100.
The press has been quick to respond to the fresh young sound and attitude
of Metro Station. Alternative Press (July 2007) singled the group out as one
of "22 Underground Bands (Who Likely Won't Stay Underground For Long)" while
Teen Vogue (April 2007) declared Metro Station a "Best New Unsigned Artist."
The group became part of Urb magazine's "Music Revolution" in January 2007
while "Seventeen Forever," Metro Station's breakout youth culture anthem, was
featured in The N Network's Summer '07 television promos. In addition to the
band's more than 7.3 million MySpace plays, Metro Station has enjoyed multiple
spins on Indie 103 and KROQ specialty shows.

In 2007, when TheMaine formed inPhoenix, Arizona, many of the band's
members were still in high school. Signing with Fearless Records that same
year, the group recorded the EP "The Way We Talk," which hit #45 on the
Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and #10 on the Heatseekers chart in
2008. The group's debut album, produced by Matt Squire, is slated for release
on July 8, 2008.
