West Coast Brew Fest is Just Around The Corner

Among the region's brewfests, very few still have sanctioned Commercial Craft Competitions, but that has been the mainstay of the West Coast Brew Fest since the first one back in 2000.

We held our competition on May 2, and it was a great event! The winners for the 18 different categories are listed below. Several local breweries held their own against other regional or national brands.

Type of Event: Annual Fundraiser for Make-A-Difference Project with Unlimited Microbrew Tasting of over 100 different beers, Live Music by local bands and Great Food by area vendors

Location: Miller Park at the West End of Broadway along the Sacramento River in Sacramento, CA
Entertainment: LIVE MUSIC by Walking Spanish
Ticket Price: $30 per person day of event, $25 pre pay, $5 for 16-20 year olds and designated drivers, free for those under 16.

West Coast Brew Fest - Commercial Craft Competition Results
Over 200 entries competing for recognition in 18 categories...

The competition is a "Triple-Blind" tasting with only the cellar master aware of what brands are being served - the judges only know what kind of beer it is supposed to be and judge accordingly.

"Since the beginning of the West Coast Brew Fest we have included the Commercial Craft Competition as a key component of celebrating the West Coast origins of the Microbrew Revolution," says Matson Breakey, co-founder of the WCBF and president of Creative Cats Presents.
